Winter time is my extra coffee time and so I wanted a new drip to do the job for me and so that I could have coffee during the day without having to re-perk. I do not like the warming trays as they continue to cook coffee and ugh, that's not good. THIS coffee maker is sublime. It arrived today, I cleaned it thoroughly and made the first small pot on the 1-4 setting. YUM. Even an hour later it tasted fresh perked. Now I have it set for 8 cups with the timer on for tomorrow morning and I can hardly wait. I'll be honest and say that pour overs are still the best but time consuming, but this Hamilton Beach (with no carafe) is the best drip coffee maker I've ever used. People talk about leaking, and I say read the instructions, and that goes for any leak or any taste. It's still a great coffeeMAKER (I stress the maker part), BUT, you know that hour later where it was still great tasting. Now it's not. I can't say it's a burned taste, but it IS an overcooked taste even though there is no burner that a carafe would sit on. I think the heater that keeps the coffee hot (and it does stay hot) actually continues to cook. Even the color of the coffee is much darker. This is my only gripe, but it's an important one. Bottom line is, make the amount of coffee you'll drink fairly quickly and you'll be very happy, but don't leave the tank for hours with the idea it's going to taste 'just perked'.It's funny to see people telling others what they will or will not experience; I guess such folks must be psychic:p Sorry, I'm not, so I can't predict what others will experience - I can only describe what I experienced. So, my Brewstation arrived quickly and in perfect condition, and this Ultra model was apparently on sale as well, so it actually cost a bit less than the first one had cost nearly 12 years ago. I like strong coffee (and buy good quality coffee to begin with), and the Brewstation seems to do a good job there: neither too fast, nor too slow, at least, in my personal opinion. I also like that the lid controls the steam better, since there is more than enough humidity in Houston, especially in the summer. Please try again Trabajo en un laboratorio asi que practicamente todos los dias la utilizamos, y nos parece excelente. Llego rapidisimo (aunque no pusieron la referencia que di del lab y tuve que ir a reclamarla al almacen) y completa. La caja venia rota e hicieron un pesimo trabajo al querer disimularlo con la etiqueta de envio, pero la cafetera no tenia ni un rasguno. Ahora, el cafe: es bastante rapida para hacer la colada, hasta el momento es despreciable la cantidad de agua que se evapora con el uso. Funciona perfectamente con molido para filtro de papel, aunque deja un poco que desear con molidos mas finos. Tiene un modo para cuando se quieren pocas tazas, y uno para un cafe un poco mas fuerte. Hasta el momento no he utilizado la programacion, pero se ve que es facil. Lo excepcional es que tiene un tanque cubierto donde el cafe preparado puede permanecer fresco por mas tiempo y lo mejor de todo, se separa para poder limpiarlo. Finally found this one which i just love. It is simple, quiet, easy to use and no carafe to deal with. It keeps my coffee piping hot. Only rnegative would be that it is the slowest coffee maker i have ever tried. It does take quite awhile to brew it but not a big deal especially since you can program ahead of time. They are still in great working condition. I recently bought (2) 10 cup Brew Stations for my offices and I was so disappointed in how much cheaper the quality of this product. They are now made of light plastic and even the little plate in the front is cheap pastic. My older ones are made of heavy plastic and have a metal plate in front. I love the style, but now unsure how long these new ones will last. Hamilton Beach has a great design and product.so why go cheap!!!!
