Tear-off mode is when the last label is presented to th e user so they can tear it off. After printing, detach the label strip manua lly. Tear-off mode is selected in the printer se tup menu of the so ftware pa ckage. Label stock is lo aded as descr ibed in Fee ding the Label — T ear-Off Mode on page 29. After printing, the strip label is detached by hand. The Brady IP Printer is equipped with a tear bar for this purpose. Slide the end of the ri bbon under the ri bbon hold-down ta b (Figure 19, 2) so that about 2 inches (50.8 mm) protru de past the tab. NOTE: Install the ribbon so the ribbon path is under the take-up spin dle, NOT over the spindle. Fold the end of th e ribbon back on top of itself over the tab. 6. Tur n the ad justment w heel (Figure 18, 9) a few complete revolutions, to ensure that the ribbon will not pull out from u nder the ribbo n hold-down tab. Ensure the electrical contacts un der the side tabs (Figure 20, 1) are properly seated in the frame so the printe r will correctly read the material identification tag.
