Customer Service just told me the noise was normal, wouldn't damage the machine, and I could try adding more water to the dough. After trying 3 loaves of bread, I exchanged the machine for the Breadman TR2200C Ultimate, which is far superior and well worth the extra 30 bucks. I will miss the crisp crust of the die-cast pan, but otherwise the Ultimate is a better machine.It started knocking and there were error messages on the display (the machine was overheating after only five minutes on the cycle). The store salesperson said Breadman were the top of the line -- I don't think so. This price is a little bit high for the item anyway. I guess we got about 10 breads made before it went bad. We had a Regal before and it lasted about 5 years. We will probably buy another Regal, we are pretty happy with that brand as it made good breads. Again, do not buy any Breadman machine!!!However, removing the paddle pretty much destroyed the integrity of the loaf every time. After that, the loaf pan lost it's nonstick coating completely and the bread came out in chunks. I have just wasted an hour looking for a site where I could purchase a replacement and have hit a brick wall. I agree that their support is terrible. I have been using my Cuisinart table top mixer to mix and knead bread with better results, although I loved the idea of set it and forget it with a bread machine. I would recommend staying clear of Breadman machines for sure.The bread turned out wonderful, and I got several compliments the next day when I took some to work with me. A second loaf of Hawaiian Delight bread didn't work so well on the rapid cycle, I wound up with a lump of half-raw dough that didn't rise at all. It may just have been bad yeast, or maybe certain mixes don't work well on the rapid cycle. I have only had this machine four days, but so far have been very pleased with the results.I can't use the machine anymore because I can't get the bread out of the pan without destroying it. I may never make cookies again this bread turned out so moist and perfect.The only thing I changed a little was I added a heaping teaspoon of cinnamon and probably a few more chocolate chips than the recipe calls for (I didn't measure I just tossed them in at the beep). I also added a bit more flour during the first kneading cycle because the dough was more like a batter at that point. A lot of chips settled to one side of the pan where the kneading didn't quite get to them which left a nice crust of chocolate on one end but next time I'll watch the time more closely to try to get the chips in just before the second kneading cycle (when my machine beeps for additions) so the chocolate chips might mix a bit better. I had my chocolate chips in the freezer which may have helped a bit.I also added a few drops of vanilla extract increased yeast to 2 teasp.I have no bread machine so I did the kneading on my KA. I let it rise 3 times and my bread baked up so high and fluffy. I had to use 1 cup more flour but that is because our weather here is so humid. Baked it in the oven at 350 for about 35 minutes. I added a little cocoa powder in place of the cinnamon and will increase the cocoa to 1tbsp because we love chocolate here. Mmm.
