Links to more information: From time-to-time you will come across a FC-100 that has been modified to include a MIDI output jack. I do not have a FC-100 to work with, but my guess is that if you needed to hack together a RRC to MIDI OUT circuit to mimic the RMC-1, you could try connecting the RRC pin 5 (output) directly to pin 5 (output) on a MIDI DIN jack. Also, it appears that the MODE switch would be set to position II, the position used for the RMC-1. You may need to experiment.If you have some basic soldering skills, it is easy to make a replacement cable. The replacement six pin connector is readily available, usually referred to as a power connector. You also need some six-conductor wire. In this example we are using BMT1 as input to Ableton Live I generally do this for my controllers that have LED’s that I want Ableton Live to provide feedback to. Of course in your case you might have to translate any LED feedback coming into your controller to something it will understand (if it even has LED feedback) Are you able to send me a brand new file with a template of a controller type like that, please? FAB-01a-sjc.bmtp. The only thing I saw really wrong was that by default translators take input from all checked input ports and send output to all checked output ports. In the preset, I changed it so input only looks at your controller and output only goes to BMT1 (attached to Ableton Live). Your translator will handle the routing. Leaving the default route on will mean other MIDI messages will also get through and may confuse Ableton Live. Above the MIDI router section in the input section, check your box for USB MIDI so the input port is open. Then in the output section open port Bome MIDI Translator Virtual Port 1 for output. If you do it right, both ports will show as open. Assuming your Boss FC-50 is actually sending Program 60, it should work. And you should be able to turn on Ableton Live MIDI Learn and select the clip you want to launch to learn that note for clip launch. Steve Caldwell. You will need to set up notes to launch other clips (to stop the current clip if on the same track) or stop all clips or stop scenes. Now, everything works as expected hooked up to akai EIE midi in. I have it bound to loopy and it triggers fine. My gripe is that while at a glance it has 2 foot switchable banks: A and B, unfortunately the AB pedal also sends midi messages. This sucks because instead of getting 2 x 5 control switches I only get 5 because as soon as I press the AB switch it sends the same PC message as pedal 2 and 4. If you don't own it what I'm saying probably doesn't make much sense to you. If you do however, have you managed to get it to work as intended? Thanks My setup is super lean for performance so don't have much ram left for translator apps. I've come up with a few workarounds. This means you only get 8 different switch commands, though, since you'll need the dummy switch assigned to both banks for moving both ways between the banks. This is obviously more complicated but does give you another midi binding to work with. This would prevent unnecessary switch presses but impose a more restricted use of the hardware. Many midi controllers can send CC messages but often only data values of 0 (off) and 127 (on). How much midi experience do you have? A supporter from G66 advice me to reset the Unit and it worked again. But it seems to it change nothing, it will not register the signal from the Boss FC50. Anything wrong here.? This must be possible. So far. It only change presets. It supports exactly 2 CC messages, which are mapped and sent only when you have external switches connected to the switch jacks on the back of the FC-50. So, you can do scenes in a limited fashion. With Preset Mapping on the Axe Fx. Check the Axe Fx manual for more details on Preset Mapping- there are some things you have to set to make it work. I believe Ignore Redundant PC needs to be ON. Good luck. While it is possible, the FC-50 doesn't seem like a great fit with the Axe Fx. I'll test it and eventually get back to how it works. SYSTEM MESSAGES System messages include Exclusive messages, messages used for synchronizing the performance of multiple units, and other messages employed for diagnostic purposes. The RV-70 supports the use of Exclusive messages. Exclusive Messages Exclusive messages handle information related to a unit’s own unique sounds, or other device- specific information. Generally, such messages can only be exchanged between devices of the same model by the same manufacturer. Exclusive messages can be employed to save the settings for Parameter Programs into a sequencer, or for transferring such data to another FC-200. If communication between two connected MIDI devices is to be successful, it must take place using only the types of data that they have in common. It is for this reason that every owner’s manual — for all kinds of MIDI devices — always includes a MIDI Implementation Chart as a quick reference to the types of MIDI messages it is capable of handling. You should compare the MIDI Implementation Charts for any two devices in order to find out which types of data can be exchanged. Address-mapped Data Transfer Address mapping is a technique for transferring messages conforming to the data format given in Section 1. It assigns a series of memory- resident records—waveform and tone data, switch status, and param- eters, for example, to specific locations in a machine-dependent address space, thereby allowing access to data residing at the address a message specifies. Address-mapped data transfer is therefore independent of models and data categories. It sends out an Exclusive message completely independent of the receiv- ing device's status. Handshaking ensures that reliability and transfer speed are high enough to handle a large amount of data.
