Quickly (2 hours of drilling) discovered my battery bosch, whilst ace at screwing things, was awful against mortar. In steps the Bosch PSB 500, and what a revelation, quick work was made of half a dozen holes in brick that would have taken 2 days with my previous drill. I wouldn't expect to use this for lots of work, its a budget hammer drill afterall, but what it does for quick small jobs is fantastic. The adjustable foregrip made it super easy drilling in tight corners, and it really motors along at full tilt. The downsides are that its quite hard to keep at a slow pace for drilling, but the hammer function worked like wild stallions at even half pace so that wasn't really a problem in the end. It also, because of the speed, threw dust everywhere, but thats my own fault for being overzealous. Overall; Brilliant for quick drilling jobs around the place, plenty of grunt and no batteries required.Easily jammed so the bit is left permanently stuck rendering the drill useless apart from using it with the one stuck bit. Check out google for evidence of the frequency of this problem and the virtual impossibility of freeing it - we've tried everything to no avail. Keyless chuck seems a great idea until it jams.
