Got put on hold for 5 mins, then service agent apologized for having no information in their systems on how to change the bulb. Was told that I'd need to pay a factory technician to come out to disassemble the unit in order to replace the bulb. I have had at least two service calls through the years to replace the light bulb. I was also told it is not serviceable by the end-user. I have also had the the pull down door tension break at least 3 times but that is another topic for another day! Q Comments (2) I thought about swapping the fridge and pantry. Tho the pantry is not wide enough at all and I’m not looking to make structural changes. There is no prep sink in the island. http://www.drupalitalia.org/node/68192
I would likely do a countertop microwave, cubby hole in the end of the longer island or on a stand at the opposite end of the kitchen with maybe a little wine fridge.See More How much did you spend on your kitchen. Q Comments (29) It's an interesting question but ultimately completely meaningless. Since my kitchen is small the incremental cost of each thing wasn't that high - I didn't need four slabs of marble and even with all my cabinetry, it's still probably about as much as a suburban home would need:-). My knobs and pulls were ungodly expensive but are almost my favorite design element - who knew my small kitchen need 30 or so:-). I didn't need the copper ceiling; I didn't need the copper hood; I didn't need the copper farm house sink from Haven's metal or the Artifacts faucet from Kohler LOL; I didn't need paneled refrigerator and dishwasher but they really are beautiful with the same cabinet doors as the rest of the kitchen. I didn't borrow for the project and I am at a stage of life where I am either leaving in a coffin or moving to an assisted living facility:-) If I were thinking strictly in economic terms I could have made less costly decisions and had a higher return of investment only I don't think of it as an investment - I just thought that there wasn't anything else I needed that portion of my savings for and there really wasn't anything that I wanted more than opting for a home that delighted my senses and fulfilled my specific functional needs. In other words, discretionary savings for my remodel versus a trip around the world:-). I don't think any of them are still the original and I can calculate exactly who spent money - layout changed to be more functional and attractive; higher quality cabinetry; lighting changed from fluorescent with plastic drop down inserts; quality of appliances etc. Interestingly, within reason the quality of the renovation doesn't seem to really impact what units sell for provided the unit looks remodeled. http://clinicamaxclin.com/images/bosch-mfq-3560-manual.pdf
Potential buyers don't seem to focus on details that drive up costs in terms of finishes. So long as the kitchen (and baths) fall within a certain norm, it appears to be all the same in terms of resale value. Anything that looks as if it is 20 years old will have price reflected as people assume it is a remodel. Flipped units generally look on trend but on examination don't have really high quality finishes and the design is not particularly well thought out - e.g. a stove that is next to a wall remains next to a wall rather than moving it slightly so it is centered with counter (and free space) on either side..See More green 60’s bathroom with red brick floor- keep or change. For the toilet- my options are to match the seat color (thanks to you, I have sample color chips on their way!) or replace with white toilet. If I replace the toilet, I will also replace the sink with a white square under mount with white quartz countertop. Then I would save the green sink and add it to the yellow bathroom as a 2nd vanity.with some cool fun wallpaper or mural. Replace the faucet with stainless or black stainless if I can find it. Replace the door knob with nickel easy open..See More Need to update this kitchen but can't change the cabinets or ceiling Q Comments (56) Take the vintage charm and run with it. I'd replace the flooring with vintage-look linoleum or marmoleum in a pattern I like that picks up in the black, like this: I'd swap in a farmhouse sink and change the faucet to something more vintage. As someone else mentioned, get rid of the microwave over the cooktop and get an undercounter hood (in black) that fits the space. Use a rubber glove - and turn the lens counter-clockwise. The oven does have a clearly visible bulb with a cover in the back. Looking in the Bosch microwave now, it's unclear where the light source is (was. https://klingende-zeder.de/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626ec1a5529fb---bosch-maxx-wfl-2060-user-manual.pdf
) Even looking thru the sub-assembly diagrams for the microwave on that searsdirect link (thanks), I don't see a light bulb mentioned at all in the microwave. I would guess it is accessible from the front. If it is - open the door - at the top of the opening there may be a 'trim' or 'vent' strip held in with a couple of screws. Remove it - and you will probably find a little door over the bulb. I've had good luck with the Repair Parts Clinic.com. The light is in the top of the unit, I think toward the rear right-of-center as looking in from the front. Near as I can guess, the light is coming from behind (above) some perforations (vent holes?) in the (metal) ceiling. So much for german engineering. This is probably by design to generate revenue. I think the light is behind a small mesh area in the front right. This probably means that either you have to take the oven out and there is a rear access door, or you slide the oven partially out and reach the bulb from above. Pull the whole of the main casing backwards to remove and set aside. A red and brown at the front connection and a yellow wire to the rear connection. I used a pair of wire cutters to brake the bulb base plate to release the old lamp. I can send you the service manual that will show you how to test and repair it. However, microwaves are dangerous to service if you are unfamiliar with them, even when unplugged. However, the manual may be welcomed by a technician. Bosch manuals are extremely difficult to come by, so most technicians do not have access to them. Ask Your Own Appliance Question Customer reply replied 6 years ago That would be great, but why wouldn't a company know how to diagnose. How do you remove the trim piece. If not magnetron then what else could be causing this. Appliance Technician: Kelly, Appliance Technician replied 6 years ago That microwave uses inverter technology. It can actually only apply 50 power to the magnetron, which it is doing. So, either the control is telling it to do so, or the inverter is having issues. That microwave is very complex. A lot of appliance technicians do not even work on microwaves due to the complexity and danger if you are not very familiar with them. The trim kit is shown below, there is a latch in each corner (shown as number 0105) that snaps into the receiver (number 0106). This unit reduces microwave power for lower settings rather than simply turning the power to the magnatron on and off it reduces power the same why you can dim a light. Much more even cooking that way. Reviews about early failures are mostly correct however recent production does not seem to have the problem and my experience is Bosch is very willing to provide no cost parts to units that are not too old. In some cases they even pay the labor and diagnosis. I own this oven and I also service them so my experience with these is not limited to once experience. As for the review suggesting a class action lawsuit. Those only make attorneys wealthy. Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2013 Not worth the price. Bosh customer service are horrible. Would not buy again. Stuck with Bosh 5050 because we have the frame, and we have no other choice. Please try again later. General Contractor 1.0 out of 5 stars Runs for 7 sec. and then shuts off. Just had service tech over. Minimum of 580.00 to repair could be as high as 850.00. Now we have to find another brand with the same size (we had purchased the trim kit to match the unit). There is obviously a problem that Bosh is not acknowledging. Recommend buying an extended warranty because you will need it. (never purchasing or recommending a Bosch appliance again). Please try again later. Please try again later. Becky Jones 1.0 out of 5 stars I thought we were getting top of the line products but have been absolutely disappointed with all units. The latest issue is with our HMB5050. Microwave shuts off after 8 seconds. Reading throughout he posts it looks like this should be a recall issue. I have contacted customer service and I will see where this goes. Please try again later. Please try again later. Monica Kinderknecht 1.0 out of 5 stars The microwave lasted 5 years but only because we rarely used it. It stopped heating and then would shut off after 30 seconds. Bosch has lost another customer. Please try again later. Please try again later. Yakster52 1.0 out of 5 stars The appliances are beautiful and very functional. The microwave was purchased with the trim kit to match the double wall oven. Up until now, the only complaint I had was that the touch pad was not very sensitive; often needing a couple of touches to acknowledge my input, but something I could live with. Two days ago, the oven quit. It runs less than 5 seconds and stops, with the display reverting back to the clock. The Bosch authorized service agent took 5 seconds to diagnose it as a failed control panel, which will take a week to get the part. His instant evaluation, along with other reviewers' experiences here, leads me to believe this is a common occurrence with these ovens. I hope this is not an omen for the rest of my Bosch appliances. Please try again later. Please try again later. K1mbr0 1.0 out of 5 stars Slamming the door is the only way to get it to work. The microwave now exhibits power shortages and resets itself every time. Shame that Bosch does nothing about it.Please try again later. Please try again later. Caleecs 1.0 out of 5 stars Will not stay on unless you keep pushing against door after starting it. This was one of the Bosch appliances provided by the builder in our new condo. Bosh customer service wanted us to pay for a diagnosis before they would consider possibly covering parts. A microwave that lasts 2 years is obviously a terrible product. Buy something else. Please try again later. Please try again later. TYU 1.0 out of 5 stars The first microwave oven I got in the 80's last longer than this model. I paid premium because I thought Bosch seems to be a solid company, instead I got an expensive junk. Please try again later. Please try again later. Michael 1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted 18 months and died. Faulty magnetron tube and inverter board. Costs more than a new microwave to repair. Most regrettable purchase I have in my kitchen. Will never buy Bosch again. Please try again later. Please try again later. Sean H. 1.0 out of 5 stars The effort required to open and close is. It failed in numerous ways all described in other reviews within 6 months. Bosch replaced and the new one lost a motherboard and the door is just terrible. The effort required to open and close is ridiculous. Bosch now refuses to do any further work on the device after 4 attempts to repair the door. Now the microwave won't work unless you slam the door. The worst appliance I have ever owned. Please try again later. Please try again later. Spxchrome 1.0 out of 5 stars Runs 20 sec then shuts off no heat. Prior to this the latch was getting stuck were u had to pry the door open with a screwdriver. If there were 0 stars I'd give it that on a good day. Please try again later. Please try again later.
