During this time, you may notice water and steam is automatically released into the drip tray. This is normal. Always ensure that the heating light is not flashing or illuminated before extracting espresso. For a drier coffee puck, we recommend leaving the Portafilter in the Group Head while texturing the milk. Once complete, remove the Portafilter then tap out the used coffee puck. It is not designed to supply large quantities of hot water. The more hot water dispensed, the cooler it becomes. It has a thermo block heating system, 15 bar Italian made pump, dual wall crema system, a pre-brew function and an auto-purge function (anti burn) just to name a few. This espresso machine will look gorgeous on your countertop in your kitchen. It's a functional show piece.Manufacturer Video Videos for related products 2:22 Click to play video Brewing Espresso with Flair Flair Espresso Next page Upload your video Video Customer Review: Great home machine for the size, price and quality of the espresso brewed See full review LindaB Onsite Associates Program Amazon calculates a product’s star ratings based on a machine learned model instead of a raw data average. Kristi Brezinski 5.0 out of 5 stars Having worked as a barista at a large coffee chain I was picky and knew the elements of a great latte. If you are new to making espresso, make sure your grind is for espressso, lightly tamp. If you follow instructions, it is a very simple process. There are not SHOT glasses included for the espresso shots. I purchased 3 oz stainless steel from Amazon. For frothing milk, there is a froth enhancing wand. You can slide off the additional metal piece if you feel you do not need it. Be sure to purchase a NSF thermometer (Taylor brand is my preference), froth to 160 degrees. A frothing pitcher is included. Overall, a wonderful product for the price. First latte I made tasted like the ones I made as a barista. I am very pleased with this product and upset I did not purchase sooner. For the money, this is the best machine around!I finally purchased it when the price ran as a special over the holidays. First, I should disclose that I have worked as a barista in my past, so I am familiar with high end commercial machines. I have owned a few other home models in the past. http://ecolealpha.com/fck_image/brother-intellifax-4750e-repair-manual.xml
My main reason for getting this product was because of the size (it's compact, and I have a small kitchen with limited counterspace), and the pressure of 15 bars, and simplicity (I don't like useless bells and whistles). In the video, I show you what the products comes with, how to pull an espresso shot with the machine and steam milk, as well as some general advice for home espresso brewing. As you will see in the video, I recommend steaming your milk first, then pulling your shot. This keeps your shot hot and tasty. Also, nothing replaces the quality of the coffee bean and grind. So if you are getting poor quality shots, and you are using store ground or home blade ground coffee with a light or medium roast, then it's probably not the machine - but the coffee. Invest in a good burr grinder - you'll be glad you did. Second, the machine comes with double walled portafilter inserts.this is because it's more forgiving of a too light or too hard tamp (pressing down of the grinds). If you want a drier puck or more control over your end product, purchase the single walled single and double portafilter inserts (but be sure you know how hard to tamp your grinds so you don't clog the filter). Third, keep your machine clean after use. Purge hot water (like brewing a shot) after you are done with it, and wipe out everything and store it properly. Some cons of this machine, but are common with many: it drips after use quite a bit, tray will fill up after about 10 uses; Soupy puck means harder to simply tap out into the compost or trash; short power cord, good if you are right near a plug, bad if you are not; loud (but not any more so than other models), but if you have a sleeping spouse, probably will wake them; have to buy single walled filter inserts separate. Enjoy the video!I watched reviews on YouTube and read different blogs and articles. In my opinion, this is the best machine for the money. https://labroclub.ru/blog/3gx-21-manual
There may be some good machines that are much less expensive, but I don't believe that they will give you as much control over the brew and steaming of the milk. I didn't realize that this was there at first, and my milk was coming out very foamy. This is good for a cappuccino, but impossible to make a latte. The milk foamed so much with this on that the pitcher would begin to over flow long before the milk would reach the ideal temperature of 140 degrees F. Also, it was impossible (for me) to get the milk to swirl in the pitcher with this tip in place. Once removed, I couldn't believe how easy it was to swirl the milk. Remove the tip and work on the art of steaming. Your first lattes and cappuccinos may not be that good, but the practice will pay off in the long run. This machine comes with almost every accessory that you will need. I ended up using a meat thermometer that I had. It works, but is difficult to read while steaming. It is critical to get the milk to a certain temperature to bring out the full flavor, but not too hot that you scald the milk. Initially, you will need a thermometer to reach this temp. After enough experience, you will be able to gauge the temp based on time and feel of the steaming pitcher. You can't email customer support and most of their links are broken. I don't recommend this item, and am not expecting anyone from Breville to reach out to me to fix this. I've had this machine for about a year and unfortunately the pump on the steaming wand no longer works at all now. I tried to reach out to them but there is no email address on their site. Ridiculous because I don't have time to call them and sit on hold for an hour.Since I still liked the overall quality of the Breville, and reasonable price, I decided to upgrade to this one after giving my old one to a friend who only uses the espresso function. It's been over 6 months since I got this machine and I love it. http://gerrim.com/images/breville-electric-kettle-manual.pdf
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the water container system is not nearly as well designed as in the Venezia. It's fairly low and wide, and you have to slide under the filter area so it spills easily. Other than that it's a great machine, great quality for very reasonable cost and very effective if you are big into the lattes and cappuccinos due to its awesome steamer.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again It's beautiful and solid, and has many nice touches like an integral storage bin and swiveling steam wand. This results in a pressure drop and uneven heating compared to a boiler, which is why there is the need for the double-wall crema system. (I'm referring here to pump machines with boilers, not the cheap steam machines.) This is why you'll find that after brewing you have a soupy sludge instead of the hard dry puck considered an indicator of proper espresso brewing. Update: as pointed out by somebody else, this may be more a function of the lack of three-way valve than indicative of poor pressure or heating. I didn't realize this didn't have a three-way valve, but that's just one more reason to avoid this. Regardless, the weakness of the thermoblock is apparent in the difference in quality between a single shot and a double shot. The latter is harsh and bitter, which I assume is because the last part of the shot isn't properly extracted due to a drop in temperature. Second, the filters and group head aren't made of brass like you'll see in machines of similar price. Brass has a high thermal conductivity and mass, which helps keep the water hot on the way to the grounds, at least when the machine is properly preheated. Personally, I'm not sure I have a sophisticated enough palette to discern a difference between espresso from this and a machine with better parts. https://www.geosuiteonline.de/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16286a63f4bc89---Cabela-s-gun-dog-shock-collar-manual.pdf
I also feel the need to offset some of the other breathless reviews by people who clearly haven't bothered to do even a minimal amount of research on espresso machines. Despite the above, the machine produces good espresso, as far as I can tell, and it IS beautiful. My guess is that it overcomes some of its component shortcomings with nice engineering (such as the auto-purge feature to avoid scalding the grounds). However, you have to wonder if you're really getting your money's worth where it counts, when there are machines out there at half the price with better internal components and plumbing. You should be able to find machines with more stable temperature and higher effective pressure for much less money if you're willing to go for substance over looks.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Friends and dinner guests rave at how great the coffee is. It makes me look good. Have had it for over a year and it keeps working. Expensive, yes but why clean a great machine with cheap products?Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Unfortunately, it's only guaranteed for 12 months. The pressure is gone, and I've had the heads cleaned, done all of the required maintenance faithfully as suggested in the owner's manual. It's a big disappointment that there is not enough pressure in the machine to make an expresso any longer. For the first six months we were to the moon happy. Now we are left with having to make another several hundred dollar purchase, and send this on to a landfill.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. The Breville espresso machine 800ESXL is an excellent choice for both the single espresso drinker as well as the full coffee-guzzling household. Things to Consider Before Purchasing an Espresso Machine Here are some of the most important things to think about when shopping for espresso makers. Automatic and Manual: Experience vs Convenience One of the first things to consider is if you want to prioritise your coffee experience or your convenience first. This classic conflict lies in the automatic versus the manual espresso debate. If you’re looking for everything (or at least some of the things) to be done for you, you’ll want to look for a semi-automatic machine, or upgrade to a fully automatic option that literally makes your espresso at the push of a button. NOTE: Learn more about the difference between semi-automatic and automatic machines here. On the other hand, if you want your coffee to be a continual experience that turns you into more of a master every day, you may want to opt for a manual lever machine. These leave you in full control of the process. Age and Quality You should also consider if you want a new or old machine, and how much to invest in the quality of the manufacturing. A new machine is going to come with the latest cutting-edge features, and will probably last longer. However, most medium to high-end espresso machines are very well built and can be used second-hand without issues. And, of course, it’ll save you some cash. Just remember to hang on to that manual for any Breville 800ESXL repairs you might need to fix if there’s a problem. The other side of that coin is the quality of your machine. Keep in mind that a higher price tag can often equate to higher quality parts for your Breville 800ESXL, so you’re not just throwing your money down the drain. PRO TIP: Just because it’s a quality machine doesn’t mean it won’t require maintenance once in a while. https://creativesilhouettes.ca/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16286a64ff3497---Cabe-manual-for-streets.pdf

Reply Alex Azoury February 13, 2020 at 6:04 am Since you’re in Australia, I’d check out Gumtree of Facebook Marketplace ?? Reply Leave a Comment Cancel reply Comment Name Email Website Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. How this works. In this review, I’ve thoroughly covered all the aspects of Breville 800ESXL including its stand out and some awesome features and functionalities that help you in pulling out the quality shots with beautiful crema every time. Its sophisticated design further enhances the interiors of your kitchen line. It has a control panel with neatly installed bold buttons and a water level indicator as well. The design appeal is personalized but I feel it is a well constructed and excellent looking machine. Design and Performance Control Panels The display panel is equipped with necessary and functional coffee brewing customization options in the form of big and bold buttons. A water level indicator on the back panel makes it easier to track of the volume of water. Water Reservoir The front-fill water reservoir has a capacity of 75oz so you can conveniently make anywhere between 2-5 cups per brew. This means no running back and forth for a refill it every now and then. For refilling the reservoir, the back panel folds down through which you can effortlessly pour water for a refill. It is pretty easy and you won’t be worried about spilling water over the kitchen counter as well. This makes selecting the desired coffee brewing coffee temperature easier. Porta-Filter What’s more, is that the double-wall porta-filter baskets which hold the coffee grounds pre brewing process. Porta-filters predominantly contribute to making great quality espressos and are found in only the best espresso makers. Breville’s portafilters offer pressurized 50 mm single and double shots so it can easily accommodate between 14 to 21-gram grounds. Drip Tray The drip tray with a storage compartment help in collecting defrosted or condensed water so there is no mess on kitchen counters. It is removable so when you need to run a cleaning session the drip tray can be removed and easily adjusted back. Auto-Purge This appliance also features an auto-purge system to allow you to extract the next beverage at your pre-set right temperature. Whenever you plan to switch from steam wand to extraction or vice versa, the water is set to an optimal temperature to extract optimal brews. Froth Enhancer The froth enhancer can be added through the frother nozzle. This helps to froth the milk much more easily. The resulting foam is thicker and richer. In addition to this, a stainless steel frothing pitcher is also included. Cup Warming Tray The cup warming tray keeps the coffee piping hot so it won’t be much of a hassle for you to keep the coffee warm. I find Brevill’s cup warming tray easy to clean so it saves up on the descaling time. This is great for anyone who loves making coffee from different variants, such as lattes and cappuccinos to name a few. Selector Dial The selector dial comes in handy for espresso, steam levels or hot water and it remembers your previously options such as steam or hot water. Quality of Coffee I’d say the quality of coffee is fairly good and the process of brewing is easy. If good quality coffee grounds are used, the aroma and taste speak volumes about great quality of the coffee. The crema is rich and noticeable and hardly ever disappoints users. If the pressurized filter basket is switched with non-pressurized baskets, the quality of the shot levels up from good to great. Durability Breville 800ESXL comes with a 1-year warranty and if maintained well it can last you many years. The stainless steel parts hold up pretty well for the price. The 15 bar pump which is Italian made as well. One thing that hasn’t been propped well is the porta-filter basket. It occasionally clogs so extraction of the grounds at pressurized levels gets difficult. To resolve this issue, a non-pressurized filter basket can be used instead so no clogging occurs. Ease of Descaling and Cleaning Appliances that are easy to clean often stand out from the rest of the fleet and Breville is one of them. The portafilter detaches easily when cleaning is needed and for the showerhead, it can be wiped down with a damp cloth. Descaling should be done once in every 2-3 months, just mix one part of water with two parts of white vinegar to get the job done. Cleaning the frother is much easier than you can suppose, just unscrew the tip and dip it in a bowl of hot water. Let it soak for a while till any solids soften up. Now run the frother but without its tip and the debris will loosen and flow out of the wand. Not only does the appliance come with a frothing jug, tamping spoon but also cleaning tools such as a needle cleaning tool just right for the portafilter details. More Awesome Features Triple Prime Pump Breville 800ESXL’s Triple Prime Pump pre-infuses the coffee grounds before the extraction process begins. Pre-infusing has multiple advantages such as: Due to the increasing pressure in the filter baskets, the grounds bloom. 3 bursts of hot water moisten the coffee grounds for maximal flavor extraction. Improves the extraction inflexibility. Makes fine grounds so they are utilized well into a shot. Pressurized filter basket gives consistent shots even if the grounds lack. The strength of the resulting shot is desirably strong, delicious and uniformly extracted. Thermoblock Technology This Thermoblock technology efficiently heats water owing to it’s die-cast aluminum element. The system only heats the specified volume of water and steam needed for extraction instead of heating the entire tank. This pro-efficient heating system enables quicker brewing and quality shots. 15-bar Italian Pressure System This produces thicker crema together with ideal temperature brews delicious coffee every time. The higher the bar pumps the greater the taste and quality of the coffee. Breville 800ESXL is amazingly specialized in producing great texture coffee without operating inconveniences or much waiting. However, on the downside, I feel this appliance’s temperature control range could have been more accurate to spark off optimally hot brews. Technical Specifications Dimensions: 10.3?W x 12.0?D x 12.5?H Weight: 26.0 lb The manual is your best guide However, for those who want to extract additional complexity out of their caffeinated beverages, a non-pressurized portafilter basket is necessarily required. Advantage of a pressurized filter basket You get more consistent shots even if the grinds are in not uniformity. However it won’t produce the true crema, the foam will be aerated and not rich. Disadvantages of a pressurized filter basket Although they are more forgiving when it comes to brewing from non-consistent grounds but they limit the quality of the coffee. If the grind is great non-pressurized filter baskets let you enjoy a 5-star coffee. Noisy It is a powerful machine thus the pump is loud and can be annoying in the morning. Lacks an Auto-off Feature The selector dial doesn’t feature an auto-stop feature so you need to be careful about timely turning it off once you are done extracting your shot. The machine has a sturdy looking and sleek design with stainless steel construction. It's made with all the advanced features and functionalities that help you pull out great shots every time without compromising on quality and waiting longer. For the money, this is probably the best machine around! This appliance comes with a 1-year warranty so you can have some peace of mind right there. Moreover, if you regularly descale it, keep the interior and exterior clean and maintained, it is going to last you over a year. The pressurized basket can sometimes get clogged but a great alternative to this is to change to a non-pressurized basket and this is pretty too. 2. Does Breville really make quality coffee. It depends on your grounds as to how good the quality is. To further fine-tune the coffee's taste, the thermoblock heater, as well as the pressurized filter basket, produces rich caffeinated beverages with great crema each time you brew a cup. However, if you want an even better shot, you could change from a pressurized filter basket to a non-pressurized one. This will further optimize the coffee's taste and it won't be heavy on your wallet either. 3. Is it suitable for heavy coffee drinkers. This appliance can easily pull out 2-3 shots of espresso or latte in a day. However, it is not for commercial purposes. Best suitable for small families and average coffee drinkers who don't want to compromise on the taste and quality of the beverage. 4. Does it have an auto-off feature. Since the machine lets baristas take control over their coffee, there is no auto-stop feature so you have to turn the selector dial to an off position to stop it from extracting your shot. However, you just need to be attentive and it won't be much of a problem. Breville’s bevy of beautiful kitchen appliances are known to provide cooking and coffee enthusiasts with a wide range of simple, strong and user friendly product choices. Breville first forayed into the Espresso machine category back in 2001, with the launch of the Breville ESP10 in Australia. Earning wide praise for brewing top notch coffee soon resulted in the American excursion of Breville, with the launch of ESP8XL Espresso machine.
